Traveling Aquila APK cushion

March 21,2017

Dear Siiri  –

My cousin’s name was Norman.  Norman was born with Spina Bifida in 1941 and was paralyzed from the waist down.  We grew up together and were best friends until he passed away at 69 years of age.  Pretty amazing considering the doctors told my Grandmother that he probably wouldn’t make it through his teens.  I learned to tighten and replace wheelchair spokes at an early age and despite his handicap, we had a great time doing things together throughout his longer than expected life.  Always one to look at the bright side of things, he never let anything get him down.  Pressure sores were an issue throughout his life and we tried every new type of cushion that came along.  When I began working for a Canadian medical equipment manufacturer doing R&D on low air loss alternating support mattresses I decided to see if anyone was making a portable unit for wheelchairs and I found out about your products.  I bought it from a wonderful gentleman that had fully recovered from an injury and no longer needed it.  I sent it back to Aquila where the cushion was modified (in record time) to suit my cousin’s needs and he spent many years enjoying its benefits.  Your unit gave our entire family tremendous peace of mind.

This unit remained in constant use for many years until my cousin (second owner) passed away.  Since then it has been loaned to numerous friends and acquaintances that have found themselves temporarily wheelchair bound while recuperating from illness, injuries and old age.  My cousin would be pleased to know that his Aquila Airpulse PK has been used and enjoyed by so many people.  It will now be on loan to a veteran that will be down while a new prosthetic leg is being developed for him.  I am thankful that this incredible product is still fully functional and providing ongoing benefits to so many deserving (and grateful) people.  It really doesn’t get any better than this!

Best regards,

Brian B.
