Meet the Aquila Team
Steven Kohlman, Owner & President
Steve is the Owner and President of Aquila. Steve grew up in Fond Du Lac, WI as the son of a Pharmacist and a stay-at-home mother, and was one of five children.
Steve has been an inventor since he was a little boy, which caused his parents a bit of added concern from time to time. After high school, Steve entered the United States Air Force and served for 4 years. He then went on to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. After graduating, Steve worked for two Fortune 500 Companies as a Sales Professional.
After his father was taken ill and became a paraplegic, he was compelled to help. He left his job and invented the first Aquila cushion to help his father live a comfortable and pressure sore free life. Since 1999 Steve continues his commitment to help those in need. In his free time, Steve enjoys motorcycling, travel, playing pool, and doing home improvement projects. Continuing to be an inventor at heart, Steve holds 5 patents and thoroughly enjoys product improvement and research and development.
Justine Kohlman, Vice President
Justine grew up in Northern Minnesota on Dark Lake in the Superior National Forest. She spent many hours on the lake and in the woods with her grandfather where he grew up when his family settled there after arriving from Finland. He taught her everything he knew about the woods and her childhood was rich because of him.
Justine attended the University of Wisconsin – Superior for Music/Vocal Performance, and later transferred to Mankato State University for Education.
Justine enjoys flower gardening, being outdoors in the sun, her dogs, riding her 2005 custom Harley Davidson Fatboy, traveling, music, and spending time with her friends and loved ones.
