Aquila Cushion with MCU Works on Abrasions and Irritation

Mr. Kohlman,

When we received the Aquila cushion Luke had a good start on a pressure sore, created primarily on a ROHO cushion, that have addressed surgically and healed nicely.   We also had reoccurring abrasions on the perineum.  The skin is often moist and vulnerable.  We started using the Aquila cushion a few weeks ago and almost immediately I was seeing improvement in this irritated area of the perineum.  I am happy to say that as of today he has no sign of irritation and the condition of the skin in that area looked healthier and less tissue paper like.  I would attribute this, in part, to the air circulation feature on the cushion (Moisture Control Unit).  It keeps the that area much drier, which I think is imperative to maintaining healthy tissue.  So, I am very pleased with what your cushion is providing for Luke.  Needless to say, he is pleased as well. He has spent far too much time hospitalized and with down time at home.  He is up in his chair 10 to 12 hours a day with no ill effects.  That is pretty remarkable when I think of what he has had to endure over the past few years.  The combination of offloading and air circulation is a winning combination for wheelchair bound individuals.  If I can ever be of help in any way to promote your cushion, I would be glad to do so.  It appears to be the cushion that I was optimistic it would be.  Thank you.

Sincerely,
T. Haggerty
