Cushion Design Considerations

Airpulse PK2

In order to give each and every client the best possible product for treating their pressure sores, we gather as much information as we can before building their cushion.  The location and size of a current pressure sore is key so that we can take special care to make sure the cushion doesn’t apply upward pressure directly to the pressure sore.

In order for pressure sores to heal, the sore itself has to be offloaded as much as possible and the surrounding tissue has to be perfused with adequate circulation and this is precisely what the APK2 cushion is designed to do.

The APK2 cushion is made with specific areas of the cushion void of upward pressure so that they can be offloaded while other segments of the cushion is alternating and changing pressure points. We know that all bodies are different and that making a cookie cutter cushion is not in the best interest of each client, so we hand build every cushion based on individual needs.  This gives every client the best possible environment to treat existing pressure sores while being up and sitting.
