Benefits of Alternating Wheelchair Cushions

blog

At Aquila, we specialize in designing and manufacturing wheelchair cushions that are customized to fit the unique needs of our clients. Our cushions are automatic alternating cushions which inflate and deflate sets of internal air bladders. The alternation gives pressure relief to compressed tissue, critical for avoiding pressure injury.

We offer 3 types of custom seating systems that use alternating technology. Our cushions include: the Airpulse PK2, the SofTech, and the SofTech Basic.

Each Aquila cushion is designed to treat and prevent pressure ulcers by automatically changing pressure points. Our cushions work on a similar principle to an alternating mattress. We custom build our Aipulse PK2 and SofTech wheelchair cushions with our client’s current health, physical characteristics, and unique needs in mind. Our SofTech Basic model has 3 standard sizes to choose from.

Below you will find benefits and features of each of our seating systems.
